Not having any of them really tied down in relationships was a good move. The ending was both satisfying, and sad, and I think that Novik did a great job leaving all these young adults open to the future. Also, the prophecy reveal was predictable but not in an upfront, first assumption kind of way – it was really well done. I felt that some of the sex stuff that happened in the book weren’t really natural to the characters (but I just might not subscribe to the use-sex-as-a-healing-distraction type of thing). The rest of the book explains a lot of questions we’ve had, highlights hints we missed along the way, and has some interesting events occur.Ī few of the things that are explain in the book were pretty obvious for me from what was going on in previous books, but to find out who the BBEG was and what kind of horrible thing that person did threw me for a loop, although it totally made sense once I knew who it was. The first part of the book is so sad and filled with pages of El lost in her own world as she (not really) tries to make sense of it all. This story picks up right where book 2 ends: El landing at her mother’s feet, finally free of the Scholomance, but her plan has gone wrong and try as she might, she cannot pull Orion through with her. The Golden Enclaves by Naomi Novik, Book 3 in The Scholomance trilogy. The big question: Was it satisfying and worth the wait?

La Casa Dei Bambini is a playgroup not a day care. We have baby toys, a change mat, high chairs and a nursing chair for Mums. Younger siblings are very welcome to our playgroup. What if we have siblings who are below 18 months of age? Once a child turns 5 our playgroup is no longer suited to the child's needs and an alternative playgroup/Montessori school is recommended. This is so that children are developmentally able to benefit better from the Montessori environment, although we will consider early enrolment if parents understand that not all materials/activities will be suitable for a younger child. Our enrolment policy is for children aged from 18 months to 4 years only. No, verification of your current PGWA membership number is proof enough. I belong to another playgroup, do I need to pay my PGWA insurance again? Yes, if you let us know which session you will be attending, we can introduce you to a friendly committee member to run through what we do so you can get a feel for the playgroup. Also, having a romance as part of what drives the plot in a young adult science-fiction adventure series feels somewhat trite to me by now. I was much more interested in getting dirt on Obliteration and Regalia. While this does have more significance than just them like-liking each other, I thought it shouldn’t have been the main focus at that point. Bits in the middle felt somewhat unfocused for example, several chapters in the middle of the team’s attempts to spy on Obliteration are dedicated instead to David and Megan’s relationship. However, some elements of this were not as great as I think they could have been. Some minor edits have been made to this review.įirefight is a fine follow-up to Steelheart David’s “metaphors” continue to baffle and amuse, there are a couple good new characters and settings, which is cool, and the ending left me wondering how the third book will go. This review was originally posted on my Goodreads account. I first read Firefight by Brandon Sanderson (the second book in the Reckoners trilogy) in November 2017.
